There’s not much news related activity happening this week, paving the way for many smooth trades for all those traders out there who enjoy trading around the news.
Monday will be a tricky day, as many of the markets will be closed, causing irregular volatility. Monday night, at 22:45 (GMT), the NZD may move due to Retail Sales. The forecast for Retail Sales is 0.6%. If results are greater than 0.6%, expect the NZD to strengthen.

Traders should keep an eye out for the press conference, as information regarding the future monetary policy of the JPY may be released. Thursday, October 15th’s high impact news events will start off at 0:30 (GMT) when the Reserve Bank of Australia’s Governor Glenn Stevens speaks. He may drop clues regarding the future monetary policy of the AUD. Since the Australian dollar’s interest rates rose, it will be very interesting to see what will happens to the AUD after Stevens speaks. At 13:30 (GMT), the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release its CORE CPI. The forecast for this event is 0.1%. If the actual amount is greater than the forecasted amount, expect the USD to strengthen. At the same time, the weekly US Unemployment Claims will be released. This week’s forecast is 525K.
