Stop-losses and gaps

If a position is left open over the weekend and experiences a gap opening Sunday night that exceeds a stop-loss order is the stop-loss executed at its specified price or is the trade stopped out at whatever the opening price is that creates the gap? I'm assuming the stop-loss order would, at the least, definitely be executed, I'm just wondering at what price.

The answer is complicated, so rather than writing it on the forum, I've requested the dealing department send me a detailed explanation of how orders are executed. I will post this information first into this thread, and then into the terms and conditions pages of the ExpressFX and Rumus platform.
