hi, i opened a short position on the GBP a few days ago and thought i had put in a stop limit/take profit order, the position seems to still be open and rolling over - fortunately, i am making money but how do i close the position and how do i ensure that i have given clear instruction when i open a position next time. i also opened a long position with the same process including the stop limit/take profit order and that seemed to have closed (i seemed to have made a loss then).

Hi,

To close you "sell" GBPUSD you need to buy the same amount of GBPUSD.

Or, if you are using RUMUS2 just click "close position" in the positions tab.

All the best

thanks, sorted now. it quite easy with once you know how. another question - does rumus2 have a feature which lets you know or indicates the best time to enter and exit on any trading day? eg is there a feature which can suggest that today i can buy GBP when it hits 2.0175 or sell then? (i hope i am making sense)

Sounds like you are looking for an Automatic Trading System. The ones I'm familiar with are created for the MetaTrader4 (MT4) platform using MetaQuotes Language (MQL). You can find a whole bunch online; I think they even sell them on ebay.

As for Rumus2 I think Rulang would be the equivalent. I'm not familiar with the syntax or functions in Rulang and I find the help not very helpful.
