Well that was fun. So far I learned how to place and remove orders, buy and sell with dealers, watch the time lines, and I learned an important lesson: when it hits a certain amount that seems really high compared to the historic amounts, close the deal. Because if you don't, its likely not going to get any better. Well probably not. I know I'm kicking myself for not selling when CAD was at -350, instead I waited way too long. Timeliness is everything!
The contest was fun, but I know I lost a lot of time on the first and second day (and thus, position) because I could not figure the IDS platform out. So thank you to everyone who helped me when I was all "OMG!"
All in all, the contest was a fun and exciting experience! I learned a LOT! I can see how someone like me can get all emotional and totally addicted to this kind of trading. Much more fun than stocks!
Thanks FX CLUB, this was fun!
I did wind up (preliminary) as the second highest ranked US resident in the contest. Which is pretty cool. I got to looking at the other US names, and can't help but wonder if Mike Bliss is the NASCAR driver Mike Bliss. Now that would be totally cool. Some households are all about football or soccer or baseball, for us its all racing, all the time!
