Hi Guys,

First I want to thank Dennis Carr for creating the excellent videos found in the Member Area. They've been helping me grasp the many facets of FX. Excellent content, presentation, and style. And except for connectivity, which is of major importance, Rumus2 looks like an excellent platform. It seems versatile and easy-to-use for a beginner like me.

However I'm having a major problem with Rumus2, and it may prevent me from doing any meaningful trading with FX Club (which I would like to do). It seems like I can only get a good connection 3 out of 10 attempts. What happens is:

1. I open Rumus2.
2. I enter my password and login.
3. The "connection" light on the upper right area of the Information Panel lights up GREEN to indicate that I'm logged into my account. This seems to light up EVERY TIME, indicating that this server is working well.
4. The "RT server" connection light on the lower right area of the Information Panel stays ORANGE, indicating "RT server disconnect", meaning I cannot see current rates, download historical price data, and makes me distrust the Rumus platform for trading. This prevents Rumus2 from being useful for me. I'm only able to get a connection on this second light 3 or 4 times out of ten.

I have already determined that this IS NOT caused by any issues on my machine (I am very proficient with computers), my firewalls are turned off, I'm not going through a proxy server, I'm not having connectivity issues with any other internet sites. Please do not respond with suggestions that my internet connectivity is the problem; I have already tested and exhausted this possibility. And this seems to be happening within all times of the day, not only during volatile conditions. I'd hate to see what problems market volatility would bring, if this is how Rumus2 behaves during market stillness.

When will the Rumus2 servers be in a reliable state to allow trading? Are there multiple "RT" servers, so I can specify an alternate ip address in Rumus? What is going on here? Please help.

Thanks again,

Brian

UPDATE--Successfully got BOTH green lights to light up after 16 login attempts just now. This instability worries me, as I'm doing live trading.

Guys, great job on the Rumus web platform! Although I'm new, I've been hoping for a simple platform like this, so I can eventually trade from my iPhone. I can't wait to use it! And can't wait to see Modern Forex. But in the meantime I hope someone has an idea for how to fix my connectivity to the Rumus2 server.

Hi, I agree this is a frustrating problem. However your issue sounds different from mine since you consistently do have a good connection, except from home (which seems to indicate an issue with the connectivity within your home). And since you mention it, I am wondering if my problems could be due to my physical location since I'm in Salt Lake City. I guess their servers are in New York, but I still don't think that's a very long distance for data to travel reliably.

Have you tried temporarily turning off your Windows firewall on your home p.c.? It may be blocking the ports used by Rumus2. If it's a laptop connection and you're using wireless, there's a possibility that the wireless router used in your home is blocking ports and you're unaware of it. It could also be that your ISP is blocking certain ports to help their customers avoid spyware/D.O.S. attacks, etc... It all depends on your setup. Can you elaborate on how your computer gets its internet connection, both at home and other locations?
