Dear Dennis:
The films are excellent both in terms of content and presentation.
Due to its rich contents the streaming over the internet is getting interupted for downloading, every 15 minutes or so. May be, my computer is not fast enough to download the contents.
My question is, whether I can download the seminars and store in my C-Drive? and if not, is it possible for you to send the DVDs for my refererence and viewing.
Regards,
Raj

Hello Raj

I'm glad you have found the films useful. My team and I have done our best and positive feedback is very important to us.

You are not the first to ask about the possibility of downloading the videos or buying the dvds and I agree that watching them on line can be a drag if the stream keeps buffering &c

My bosses are not sure about the commercial viability. So Raj, can you tell me what you would be prepared to pay to download one and how much you'd pay for a dvd.

If anyone else has comments to make, please post them here.

Cheers

Dennis

Here's an update on the Film front.
Our latest video Charting the Euro will soon be available for free on fxclub.com.

Charting the Euro follows the ups and downs of the Euro from its launch in the beginning of 1999 to the end of 2004. The film uses the changing fortunes of EUR/USD to illustrate a wide range of charting techniques that can be used to identify possible price direction and target.

Charting the Euro also examines some of the fundamental influences on EUR/USD throughout this time.

We are pretty pleased with this film and I look forward to your feedback when it becomes available.

Hi Dennis,

Great job with the films. Your films are very informative.

By the way, in your films you mentioned that you will be talking more about waves analysis like Elliott waves in the films on wave analysis. Is it out yet? I can't find it in the Forex Club website. If it's not out yet, do you know when it will be out? Thanks.

Hello Steve

Glad you found the films useful.

We started working on an Elliott wave film script some time ago. We finished the script but the guys holding the purse strings decided to put film making on hold. It hasn't been decided when we will make the next one. Its all up in the air.

well, the films are rich in content, well introduced, well explained. somehow interactive and concepts/art is really well correlated to each other.

and i am starting to love and starting to find rumus2 really useful, something that i didnt... so that is a big progress.

so what more can i say. :D

the only downside is the streaming server, every 10 or 15 mins keep freezing so i have to keep clicking on the timelime to resume or close the player and reload again.

overrall great. 9/10. i am expecting more films :p

good luck!.

Hey guys

Its impossible to download the films at the moment but we reckon we'll have something sorted soon and people will be able to download them to watch off-line.

So, at the moment watching the online streaming service is the only solution. The big plus is that its free but I agree that the buffering is a real drag. We are doing our best to minimize the problem our end and I hope you see an improvement in the near future.

That's bad news Olualani.

 I just don't understand it. I know other people have been able to watch the films without too much difficulty - I've got a file full of testimonials as evidence for that.

Maybe the problem is with your connection? What are you using?

Hi Oluani

Have you been unable to watch the films online?

Oluani,

I've had the same issue with the buffering problem.. what I've done and seems to have helped is start one of the vidoes while your busy doing something else and let it do a complete run through let it buffer then rerun it and watch you shouldn't have much if any problem then.

Hi, great job on films, kudos!
Just thought I should bring this up to your attention that theres a typo in your last film on charting euro on the screen where you tell us that Warren Buffet made 5 billion dollars in two years, on the screen it displays as "2 YARS"

If it is some market jargon and is there intentionally, disregard this post:)

Hi,

After watching the first two films, I have to say that I am rather impressed with the production quality, progression of concepts and much of it is making sense.:)

I do not think people should be too concerned with the bandwidth issues, buffering and the like. I believe if you were to pause the play for 15 minutes this should provide a sufficient time for the media player to load the data into temporary storage. Failing that ,when the film pauses due to download issues , why not rewind the film by dragging the blue box back a bit. After all , there is no harm in reviewing what you have already seen.

p.s the little white van in film two I think had 'traider' written on it. I was not going to mention this , but as another member mentioned typos I thought I would join in.

Dennis Carr
09-03-2007, 03:06 AM
Hello

Glad that you are finding the films useful and thanks for the advice about overcoming toe buffering problem.

Yes, 'traider' slipped through our typo net. I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one typo in each of the films. I know for certain that there's one in Introduction... and this board has spotted ones in Charting the Euro and Chart Analysis 1.

However, the important thing is that the content is sound.

So, where did you get the RAVI on the film? what software you are using? Regards

Dennis Carr

We use Rumus charting software in all our films. I think when we were making the Essential Indicators we were still using Rumus 1. We now use the 2.0 version. RAVI is available on Rumus 2, along with a host of other useful indicators.

Hello Dennis,

Thanks for the series of videos made on Forex Trading.:)

My problem is viewing them in the sense that it takes time to load due to buffering etc.
It will be more appreciated if these videos could be downloaded and be viewed as many times as possible.

Moreover, a new person in Forex trading like me needs every information before getting his/her fingers burnt.

Thank you.

This is a perennial problem. I feel that we are coming close to a solution and that I will soon be able to offer a downloading option in the near future.

Moreover, a new person in Forex trading like me needs every information before getting his/her fingers burnt.
I wonder if you have subscribed to Forex Primer. It's available (free) in Forex Club's member area.

Hello,

I'm a new client of FXclub.
All videos are great but I'm very interesting by a film on fundamental analysis, which will talk about GDP,the different book(beige book, blue book,...),consumers confidence,...
If you find time I think it's the movie who is missing in your collection.
I also wait for the film on Elliot waves.
Thanks for all.

I have an other suggestion for non-anglophone customers(I'm french)I think it's a good idea to incorporate subtitle on your videos.thanks.

Dennis Carr
09-14-2007, 03:26 PM
Yes, you're right crystal. We would really like to do something on Fundamental analysis but we're not sure whether we should do a film, a distance learning course or a series of internet seminars.

I've got a script and a story board for Elliott wave analysis and we are just waiting for some time and a green light.

We did do subtitles for the first film, they are accessible on the dvd menu which unfortunatel is not available on the stream. There are a couple of points for consideration.

1. We couldn't offer different subtitle options in one stream. We would have to offer a number of streams with subtitles in different languages.

2. Finding a good translator with trading experience is quite difficult. If you, or anyone else would be interested in translating any of our products, please let me know.

Hello Dennis,
I have recently signed up and have been playing in Game Mode and reviewing the Demo account features. I am not clear about, "One Cancel the Other" Can you please be very specific regarding how this tool is correctly used? In the video, about 40+ minutes in, the "One Cancel" is discussed. It goes by rather fast. It appears that you indicate either SELL in both boxes or BUY in both boxes but not Sell in one box and BUY in another like you would cancel a normal trade to close it out. I am also receiving an error message, "Order rejected. Order is either within the spread or too far from market level" what does this mean please? I have clicked in the help under, "One Cancels" however, this is not very detailed. Can you please give me a few examples? For example, let us saqy that the UREO is 1.3780. If you wish to buy, and the spread is 3 pips, would you buy at 1.3783 and place a sell at 1.3777? Yes you are protected for a drop but what closes out your profit as the BUY rises? Please tell me the best written or video tool that you have that I can review to best learn the IDS system? If you do not have a video or written lesson specific to IDS may I suggest that you consider producing one. This would be a big help for beginners. Do you have any provision for my coming to your offices for a few hours one on one?

Hello Larry

I sent you an email a few days ago answering these questions. Perhaps you didn't receive it for some reason. Nevermind, this is the gist of what I wrote:

The best thing I can offer you here Larry is an extract from
"Making Money on Forex: a manual". It follows a trader making a using
IDSystem to open positions, close positions using simple, OCO and
If-done orders. You can download this book from the Forex Club Member area but I'll send you the relevant section myself. I hope it helps clarify any issues that you have.

Usually we set OCO orders when we already have an open position. For example, if I'm long on EUR, I will set a OCO with two parts a SELL to close at a certain level of profit (a take profit) and a SELL to close at a certain level of loss ( a stop loss).
Some times I want to open a position when price hits a certain level. I use an If-done order to do this. This is a combination of an opening order which then activates a OCO. The section I'm sending from the book describes this type of order in detail.

When IDSystem rejects your order it is because either the order is
less than 10 points from the current market price or that the order is
so far away from the current price there is no chance of it getting
filled in the reasonable future.

I wrote this book some time ago when IDSystem was part of the Rumus
1.0 suite. Since then, Rumus software have released Rumus2, which has
a trade terminal component that I find more user-friendly and
flexible than IDSystem. I would recommend that you give Rumus 2 a look
and perhaps try it out on a demo account. To this end I have also
attached lessons 4 and 5 from of a series of lessons that I wrote called
Forex Primer. These two lessons deal specifically with the trade
terminal in Rumus2. If you would like to access the rest of these
lessons, you can in the member area at fxclub.com

Unfortunately, I am not based in the US at the moment so meeting could be difficult. However, I am planning to be at a trading expo in Las Vegas in November. So if you are planning to be there too, I'd be happy to meet up.

Hope this helps

Dennis

PS I didn't attach the files I mentioned in the main body of this post. They are all available at http://fxclub.com/learn-forex/

Hi Dennis,

I've been trying to watch the videos but with much interruption because of the streaming. I know you are aware of that and that you are studying a possible solution. Let me tell you that I would pay some USD 20.00 for a DVD with all the didactic contents (the videos and the book and the primer) or something like that just for the downloading of the videos, so as to be able to watch them offline.

May I suggest that if you plan on making the videos available for download, that you first convert it to .rmvb real player format as this considerably shrinks the size of the video file, making it faster to download and easier on your site bandwidth.

Other than that, your site is unbelievably useful, chock-full of easy-to-follow learning material and it's everything I wished for when I was looking for resources to learn about FOREX. Congratulations and many thanks!

Still no news about downloading the films, unfortunately.

However, if you are experiencing problems with the films buffering you may want to check out the Video lounge in the Forex Academy Member Area at www.coltfx.com . We have the six films in flash format and this seems to help.

I'd be interested to know what you think.

Hi, Dennis, the video is well presented and very informative well-done, it will be well appreciated if it can be downloaded and use off line, while going through the training video on Japanese Candle Sticks, you mention a book written by V.I. Thanks.

Hello A Ajani

Thank you for your feedback.

At the moment 5 Marks to Success (By Prof V I Safin) is only available as a download in Module 4 of Colt FX.
5 Marks... was published in 2003 and since that time Prof Safin and his team have continued to develop and modify the system. The result is Colt FX.

The book outlines the theory that both 5 Marks and Colt are based on and it is very useful because it illustrates how the trading system developed since it has been in everyday use.

However, I am meeting a trader next week who wants to revise and update the original book and I am hoping that we can come to an agreement and re-release a new edition of the book in the near future.

I enjoy your films very much. I try to watch them as much as possible. My self I trade with a mini account with another broker those. With alot of people starting to get into the forex market and alot do start off with mini accounts. Do you think it is possible to produce a film for people with such accounts or better saying showing them how they can come up with a sound game plan to mangered such small accounts. Where they can increase them in the course of time. Accounts with $500.00 or less. Showing how it can be possible to slowly build them up. Most people that first open such accounts only do 1 lot at a time or one currency at a time. A film on a tradeing plan for such accounts would be very valuable to all beginners working thier accounts in this range. Its just an idea thats all. It may not be interesting for some but may be for others it would be. Just thought I would run it by you to see what you think thats all.

Thank For Your Time

I think that's an interesting idea, Larry. Thank you.

What do you think is the absolute minimum to have in your account to trade micro-lots?

I would say that you can't expect much from less than 500 USD and at that level of capitalisation, you would need to have a stict limit on the size of your lot.

If the aim of the exercise was to build up an account, it would take a lot of time and effort to achieve. However, if the aim was to develop a working knowledge of risk management and live trading then it would be worth doing.

If the aim of the exercise was to build up an account, it would take a lot of time and effort to achieve. However, if the aim was to develop a working knowledge of risk management and live trading then it would be worth doing.

I would say both to to the above. Most people work common jobs like myself. When I get my tax returns I spend a little bit for myself then I try to reinvest the rest into some thing to build it up on. Mainly a retirement account. But stocks if your lucky if you make 10 % a year on. ( which is not bad those ) But saying with forex you would have a better chance in makeing more than that. Of course your using money that you can afford to risk . Like part of a income tax return. So with regards to risk management & live tradeing then thats what it would be all about. To develope a plan using risk management & live tradeing to develope a mini account into a standard account . That way a regular person can learn how to put together his or her own plan and make it work for them. So they can of course build thier own accounts up. Of course in the process there will be losses in the tradeing process but that is part of the learning curve. That why you use a practice account first. But a film like this would give those people an idea on how to start with the minum (bare bone minum ). You have to start some where and why not the minum. Its no diffrent when you start a home base bussiness and then you work it up. Then the next thing you know it in time you have to move it out of the house. So its kind of like the same thing . Except there is more risk to it. But the trader would have a base foundation to go by on his or her mini account. Like I said its just an idea showing how you can succeed in forex even at a bare bone minum useing risk management & live tradeing. I am sure they would understand its not easy or is it a get rich quick thing. But there is an old saying you can make a little ( 500.00 usd ) do alot. Why not try it with forex. Showing how using risk management & live tradeing to build on as a plan. Again its just an idea thats all.

Thanks for the reply & hope to see more great films from you.
